MAKE WALL STREET BANKS PAY BACK THE BAILOUT AND STOP FUTURE BAILOUTS BEFORE THEY START!
SIGN BELOW!
TELL CONGRESS IT’S TIME TO END THE RECKLESSNESS AND GREED THAT LED TO THE ECONOMIC CRISIS.
For far too long, tough new reforms championed by Gary Peters and supported by many in both parties have languished in the US Senate. The big banks and their army of lobbyists are fighting tooth and nail to prevent reform that would hold them accountable. We need reforms to protect people on Main Street by holding Wall Street banks and insurance giants accountable, and we need it now!
Sign below and join Gary in demanding action on reforms that would:
- Protect our economy and prevent job losses from future financial crises and stop future bank bailouts;
- Require Wall Street banks to repay 100 percent of the bailout money they received from taxpayers;
- Stop the outrageous executive bonuses and pay schemes that incentivize reckless investment;
- Protect consumers by cracking down on scams, hidden fees and the predatory lending that led to the economic crisis;
- Level the playing field for small businesses that play by the rules.

Gary Peters worked to create a plan to protect families and our economy from the greed and recklessness that caused today’s economic crisis.
The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (H.R. 4173) along with H.R. 1586 would:
- Force large banks and hedge funds to pay back every penny of the bailouts initiated during the Bush Administration.
- Protect consumers with tough new laws that crackdown on speculative predatory lending schemes while streamlining enforcement.
- End all future taxpayer funded bank bailouts by requiring "too big to fail" institutions to pay into a dissolution fund that would be used to slowly, responsibly dismantle failing firms rather than have taxpayers bail them out.
- Give shareholders—a company's true owners—more power stop pay schemes that incentivize the reckless short term gambles that helped create the economic crisis and recapture undeserved multi-million dollar golden parachutes for executives.
- Force top executives who contributed to the financial meltdown to return taxpayer money that was used to pay for undeserved bonuses at companies like AIG.
